[Comparison of the nude mice xenograft and chick embryo systems].

چکیده
A comparative study on tumorigenicity was carried out in which two Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) genome-positive epithelial cell lines (A2L/AH and NPC-KT) were tested in nude mice xenograft system and chick embryo system. When two cell lines were inoculated subcutaneously in nude mice and on chorioallantonic membrane of the chick embryo, respectively, tumors developed in both systems. Histologically, both tumors were undifferentiated carcinoma. The tumor in chick embryo system developed within two days after inoculation, whereas the tumor in nude mice xenograft system developed 3 weeks after inoculation. These results suggest that the antitumor activity of drugs can evaluated faster, cheaper and easier by the chick embryo system compared with nude mice xenograft assay.

Tumorigenicity of Esophageal Cancer Stem Cells (ECSCs) in nude mouse xenograft model
Background and objectives: Modeling cancer in vivo is a very important tool to investigate cancer pathogenesis and molecular mechanisms involved in cancer progression. Laboratory mice are the most common animal used for rebuilding human cancer in vivo. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are the main reason of failure in cancer therapy because of tumor relapse and metastasis. Isolation of cancer stem cell...
متن کاملInjectable Estradiol Valerate, as a Substitute for Estradiol Pellets in Breast Cancer Animal Model
The ability to maintain and study human tissues in in-vivo environment has proved to be a valuable tool in breast cancer research for several decades. The most widely tissues have been xenografts established human breast cancer cell lines into athymic nude mice. The aim of this study was to provide a new accurate and affordable method for the establishment of breast cancer xenograftin nude mice...

Background: Despite advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment, survival rate of patients suffering from glioblastoma multiform (GBM) has not been significantly improved. Therefore, novel therapeutic adjuncts to routine therapies have been suggested over time. Inhibition of angiogenesis by antiangiogenic drugs is one of the new approaches to inhibit the growth of malignant cells. Microvessel d...

Echistatin, a cyclic RGD peptide, which is an antagonist of αvβ3 integrin (disintegrin), inhibited human osteosarcoma in the chick chorioallontoic membrane (CAM) model and tumor growth and pulmonary metastases in a nude mouse orthotopic model. A high-metastatic variant of human osteosarcoma, 143B-LM4, overexpressing αvβ3 integrin was used. Tumor angiogenesis by high-metastatic variant 143B-LM4 ...

Cyclophosphamide is a chemotherapy drug for the treatment of cancer. Chicken embryo amniotic fluid, vitamin C and coenzyme Q10 have anti-oxidant properties. Total of 70 adult female mice were selected and divided into seven groups. The first group that received 2 ml kg-1 of inactivated amniotic fluid subcutaneously. The second group treated with 75 mg kg-1of cyclophosphami...
